ABOUT THE CLASSES
Welcome to Forró Stockholm’s classes! From January 28th to May 27th, we have classes in two popular dances from Brazil! Samba de gafieira is open level, we welcome everyone with and without experience. For forró, we have two levels. One focuses on the fundamentals and the other goes beyond the fundamentals, see requirements below. Each class develops and progresses over the course of the semester.
Please note that the semester started in January. It is not possible to join the classes now.
SCHEDULE
17:30 – 18:30 Samba de Gafieira (open level)
18:30 – 19:30 Forró beginners
19:30 – 20:30 Forró intermediate

Forró intermediate requirements: Basic turns/troca de lado (leader and follower), manivela, chuveirinho, chapéu, able to play in base 2 (open embrace basic step), caminhada, caminhada com trava, giro paulista, dois pra lá dois pra cá, and being able to recognize a xote.

ABOUT THE TEACHERS
Ian Martinelle is a dance teacher from Rio de Janeiro. He has been dancing for over ten years, going through different dance styles and specializing in forró and samba de gafieira. Since moving to Sweden, Ian has been teaching with his partner Lovisa.
